We have done our best to avoid passing on any undesirable traits by having tested both parents of this puppy, who are free, as far as it is possible to determine by these tests, of undesirable genetic characteristics. Because of all the genetic and environmental factors involved, we cannot absolutely guarantee that your puppy will be without hereditary defects.

With that said, if your puppy should develop any hereditary characteristics, such as severe patella luxation, or hereditary heart or eye conditions before the age of 26 months that will affect the puppy’s life or normal physical abilities, we will offer a replacement puppy as soon as possible. We do require a diagnosis by a board certified veterinarian specialist. A second opinion from a Board Certified Veterinarian chosen by the breeder, or approved by the breeder is required. This guarantee does not cover any conditions that are not symptomatic and do not affect the dogs performance.

Coccidia and Giardia have become more prevalent in puppies than worms. These are parasitic in nature and cause diarrhea, lethargies, and leave the puppy feeling generally unwell as well as deprive the puppy of vital nutrients. Coccidia often is seen on the stool as very small white dots or spots (cysts) and the stool is wrapped in a thin mucous layer. A giardia stool can often be black from old blood in the intestine, or have fresh blood in the stool. Both conditions are easily treated by your veterinarian.

A puppy can leave our property without any problems from these two conditions, yet the stress of traveling and adjusting to a new home can trigger a reaction or over production of the condition. Please consult your veterinarian right away if your puppy’s stool becomes diarrhea with either mucous or blood appearing. Coccidia is often treated with Albon, and Metronidazole (an intestinal antibiotic) is usually the drug of choice for giardia. Both can be detected by simply bringing a stool sample into your vet.

These conditions only apply if the dog has not been bred and/or the following conditions have been met.

1.       This puppy has been sold in good faith as a show potential puppy.

a.       The owner agrees to work toward an AKC championship in the US.

b.      Breeder agrees to show/handle puppy for  free, primary owner will pay all entry and shipping fees and a portion of expenses  shared by all dogs shown.

c.       If owner decides to show the above listed dog all expenses are the responsibility  of buyer

2.       Puppy is not to be sold or given to another party without written/signed consent of Playtyme Papillons.

a.       First right of refusal will be granted without question to Cherish or Tammy DeWitt.

3.       Any Stud service made to the above listed puppy will be approved prior to breeding by “Playtyme” in writing.

a.       Females must have OFA clearances of Heart and Patella and CERF prior to breeding

b.      Approved by breeder

c.       Be of sound quality and a good representation of the breed

4.       It is also agreed that PlayTyme retains breeding rights to the above listed dog

a.       Breeder agrees to all costs involved in the breeding

b.      No stud fee will apply to breeder

5.       We agree that this puppy will be co-owned until he is Neutered.

6.       We agree that this puppy will not be bred before the owner has obtained a heart OFA certification, eye CERF certification and an OFA patella certification. (Which can be done at one years old.)

a.       Puppy will not be bred before the age of 2 years unless written consent by Playtyme is given.

b.      If puppy fails one of the above listed clearances buyer has two options : (Breeder has the right and option to have this verified by a second veterinarian)

                                                               i.      Playtyme agrees to replace the puppy at which time the puppy will then be returned to breeder

ii.      buyer can choose to not use at stud and keep him  for other events and breeder owes buyer nothing

7.       Buyer agrees to all shipping costs involved.

8.       The puppy is not to be tied in any manner, nor ever allowed to run free. Owner will provide a dog run or a fenced yard when off leash.

9.       The puppy is to be fed premium quality food that contains no Gluten or Gluten meal. Gluten comes from China, (cheapest source) and in most cases is responsible for all pet product recalls.

10.   The puppy is to be maintained at a weight appropriate to its size and age. Many veterinarians do not want to offend their clients and will tell you the dog is fine. You should be able to always feel individual ribs with fat between (not covering) the ribs. Also looking down on the puppy, you should be able to identify a waistline.

11.   The puppy must be provided with proper grooming, correct exercise, and veterinary care.

12.   Owner agrees not to use any harsh training methods, choke collars, or electronic training collars on this dog.

13.   The puppy will not be allowed to jump up or down from places higher than 12 inches, or made to run or jog unnaturally (i.e. next to a bike) up until 2 years of age. These activities have been shown to cause joint damage, injure growth plates, and damage connective tissue.

14.   The puppy will receive proper veterinary care, vaccinations, routine deworming, following the vet’s recommendations.

15.   This puppy will not be sold OR given to a second party without prior notification and agreement of the breeder. Should you be unable to keep the puppy for any reason, the undersigned agrees to contact the breeder and give the breeder “ FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL”.

16.   All costs incurred by the primary owner: vet bills, feed bills, liability, are the sole responsibility of the primary owner named above.

17.   Any puppy denied proper veterinary care, proper diet or shelter from severe temperatures, or violation of this contract in any way authorizes Playtyme Papillons the right to remove the dog

I understand and agree fully to the above conditions set forth in the purchase of a Playtyme Papillon.
